Residential Energy is bewildering without Performance Point. Make it easy.

Energy Star
The Energy Star mark is one of the most recognizable certifications in any product category. Consumers universally associate energy star with the ability to save money and protect the environment. Obtaining Energy Star certification is a complex process involving a checklist of requirements and energy performance standards. All parts of the house, including lighting, appliances, framing, insulation, air sealing, water heating, and HVAC, are included in the detailed modeling and checklists. For homes closing after 1/1/2023 Energy Star v3.1 may also earn builders a $2,500 45L tax credit! Performance Point has a proven track record of success implementing Energy Star for builders from the most elaborate custom homes, to challenging muilti-family projects, even builders building thousands of homes a year.

HERS Rating
HERS stands for Home Energy Rating System. The HERS Rating process is governed by RESNET, which oversees standards, training, quality assurance, and a formal complaint resolution process. The HERS Rating is basically a measurement that tells you how energy efficient a home is compared to a standard reference home. The lower the score, the more energy-efficient the home is! Because of the straight forward rating system and rigorous quality standards HERS is used as a part of many other energy efficiency and rebate programs such as Energy Star.

Indoor airPLUS
Indoor airPLUS is an “add-on” certification to ENERGY STAR Certified Homes that focuses on indoor air quality. The indoor airPLUS Certification process considers construction materials, techniques, and occupant behavior. To earn the IAP label care must be taken to reduce VOC levels, ensure air handling systems stay clean, and the home is properly ventilated during construction. The program also pursues mechanical design practices that reduce indoor humidity.

NGBS
Whether you are a Single Family Builder or Multifamily Developer, we have experts to provide the support and customer service you need, every step of the way. The ICC700 National Green Building Standard is a green building program that emphasizes healthy homes, lower operating costs, and sustainability. For many projects NGBS is the most attainable above-code certification that qualifies for Fanny Mae or Freddy Mac mortgage interest rate deductions and higher loan proceeds at acquisition or refinance.

Code Compliance
-
RESchecks
Building code officials may require a REScheck to verify your installed combination of insulation R-Values and window U-Values meet or exceed local building code requirements. Some municipalities even require a REScheck or engineer-stamped Simulated Performance Alternative prior to issuing a building permit. We perform both with super fast turn around times and great prices for builders and insulators.

Duct Testing
Most modern energy codes require duct leakage testing. The duct blaster test is similar to the blower door test, but only tests the leakage of the duct work. During the test the HVAC system is isolated so leakage through unsealed connections can be measured. The test can be done alone or with the blower door to isolate leakage outside the building envelope, or without to measure total duct leakage.
-
Blower Door
Some energy codes require the total envelope air leakage to be measured with a Blower Door. The test quantifies air infiltration and can help pinpoint air leakage pathways. Sealing unwanted air infiltration helps reduce energy consumption, prevents moisture issues, and avoid uncomfortable drafts. During the test a fan is placed in an exterior opening. The fan lowers air pressure inside the home causing outside air to flow inside through unsealed gaps in the envelope and ducts. The test determines air infiltration rate and leaks by measuring the air flow necessary to maintain negative pressure inside the house.
